P, Q and R have Rs.6000 among themselves. R has two-thirds of the total amount with P and Q. Find the amount with R ?

Let the amount with R be Rs.r
r = 2/3 (total amount with P and Q)
r = 2/3(6000 – r) => 3r = 12000 – 2r
=> 5r = 12000 => r = 2400.
